With music and lyrics by Laurence O’Keefe and Nell Benjamin, the production is based on the 2001 cult classic film Legally Blonde, starring Reese Witherspoon.
The musical tells the story of sorority girl Elle Woods, who enrolls in Harvard Law School to win back the love of her ex-boyfriend.
Through struggles with classmates, legal doctrines and a surprising court case, Elle ultimately triumphs beyond a reasonable doubt.
The show at Bruton High School begins Jan. 29 and runs through Jan. 31, with additional dates from Feb. 6 through 8. The show begins at 7 p.m. Jan. 29 through 31, and Feb. 6 and 7. Matinees are scheduled for 2 p.m. Jan. 31 and Feb. 8.
Tickets are $ 10 for YCSD employees, students and seniors. Theater teachers receive free admission. All other tickets are $ 15.
